Indoor or outdoor — the choice that matters
The H4-N8-4200 and the H3-W8-6500 hold a similar amount of energy but are not interchangeable. The difference is the enclosure:
IP21 protects against solid objects over 12 mm and vertical dripping water. It is not a weather rating. An indoor unit sited outdoors will collect water and dust, and the warranty position on that is unambiguous. If the unit must go outside, specify the H3 range.
Indoors, this unit suits a plant room, utility room, garage or technical area. At 67.7 kg it is lighter than the outdoor equivalent, which eases handling in a plant room, but it still needs a suitable base and two people.
Where this size sits
8 kWh with a 3600 W output covers a household evening load — lighting, refrigeration, television, routers and phone charging — plus daytime loads served directly from the 5000 W PV input.
It also suits telecom and data cabinets, where a steady few hundred watts must not drop, and backup power for a site that has grid supply but cannot tolerate an outage. Automatic switching between PV, mains and battery keeps the load supplied without intervention.
Protection and management
BMS monitoring cell voltage and temperature against overcharge, over-discharge and over-temperature.
Automatic switching between PV, mains and battery for continuous supply.
WiFi monitoring — the unit is supplied with an external WiFi communication module for remote status.
Intelligent energy management with configurable priority input modes — solar, battery or grid — set from the LCD screen.
LiFePO4 chemistry — decomposition temperature above 500 °C.
Cycles ≥6000 at 25 °C, 0.5C, 80% depth of discharge, to 80% capacity retention.

Not held
This model holds no certification files, and no UN38.3 report. As it contains lithium cells, UN38.3 is required for air and sea transport booking, so shipping is currently restricted. We state this before ordering rather than after — see the certifications page.
