What IP54 means in practice
IP54 is two figures, and both are worth reading literally.
- The 5 is dust. Dust ingress cannot reach a level that interferes with operation.
- The 4 is water. Protection against splashing water from any direction.
What it does not mean:
- It is not protected against immersion. Do not mount it where it will stand in water or in a pit that floods.
- It is not protected against a direct water jet — that is IP65 and above.
What it changes for installation is the reason this model exists: the unit can be mounted outdoors without a separate weatherproof cabinet. On a multi-unit parallel site that is not a small saving — nine weatherproof enclosures is a cost and a footprint the IP21 version needs and this one does not.
Features unique to this model
- IP54 sealed enclosure — outdoor installation without a separate cabinet.
- 9-unit parallel expansion — to 55,800 W, as single-phase expansion or 415 Vac three-phase.
- 98% maximum PV charge efficiency.
- 120 A combined PV charge current.
- One MPPT per unit, nine across nine units — 8500 W per unit.

How parallel expansion works
Each unit carries one MPPT string, up to 8500 W, so nine units accept up to nine PV strings. Battery, output and control are interconnected, and the system presents to the load as a single supply — 240 Vac single-phase, or 415 Vac three-phase.
Planning implications:
- Battery bank scales with the system, not the unit. Nine units charging at up to 120 A each is a very large combined charge current. Size the bank so the combined charge current stays within the chemistry's 0.2C (lead-acid) or 0.5C (lithium) limit.
- Cable and protection are system-level. Three-phase output at 146.8 A per phase and single-phase at 253.6 A require appropriately rated switchgear.
- Start with the load. Decide the target output, divide by the single-unit class, then confirm the battery and PV can support that many units.

Typical applications
- Outdoor commercial and light-industrial sites needing three-phase supply with backup.
- Coastal, humid or dusty locations, where a sealed enclosure is not optional.
- Rural electrification where a 415 Vac three-phase network is required and there is no plant room.
- Agricultural installations with outdoor pump stations and motors.
Certification coverage
| Certification | Status |
|---|---|
| CE (EMC) — CKEYS251201016 | Not held for this variant |
| CE (LVD + EMC) — M.2025.206.C116069 | Not held for this model |
| FCC SDoC — CKEYS251013025 | Not held for this model |
| RoHS 2.0 — CKEYS251013024 | Not held for this model |
| GB 4943.1-2022 — RKEYS250917157 | Not held for this model |
| GB 4943.1-2022 — BDL260706S002 | Covered (series declaration) |
Read this table carefully, because the naming is close. The IP21 version, HE300-7200-FP, is listed on the CE EMC certificate CKEYS251201016 — but this IP54 variant is not. The two are different certification cases even though they share a platform. As things stand, the only compliance document held for the HE300-7200-FP-I5 is the GB 4943.1-2022 safety report, and GB 4943.1-2022 is a Chinese national safety standard, not a CE mark. If your market requires CE, tell us the model and the market and we will state the position rather than imply coverage. Every certificate number and its covered model range is on the certifications page.
