Dual AC output — why it matters

From this model upward, the HE200 hybrid line uses an L1+N1+L2+N2+PE topology. That means two separate AC outputs:

When battery charge falls low, the unit drops the secondary output to protect runtime on the main output. The critical circuits keep running; the non-critical ones suspend. No manual intervention, no separate transfer switch.

For backup projects where the whole point is that essential circuits survive, this is the feature that justifies choosing the 6500-T over a similar-output single-output unit.

Sizing context

9000 W of PV input against a 5500 W output is generous — the array serves the load and charges the battery comfortably. Practical panel wiring uses 540–700 W panels at 45–55 V open-circuit, strung 4–8 in series.

Battery current check: at 5500 W and 24 V, the battery draws roughly 230 A. Plan for 35–50 mm² battery cable and a 150–250 A breaker. If the cable run is long or the cable size becomes a problem, a 48 V model halves the current for the same power — see HE200-7200-F.

Charge current setting

The maximum combined charge current is 160 A, but that is a ceiling, not a target. Set the parameter to respect the battery:

Setting the charge current too high is one of the most common causes of short battery life. Details are in the installation guide.
