What is the advantage of dual MPPT?

An IP54 variant, HE200-12000-F-I5, carries the same electrical specification — 12000 W, 48 V, dual MPPT — in a sealed enclosure for outdoor installation. It is a separate model: neither the protection rating nor the certification position carries over from the IP21 version.

Why dual MPPT matters

Two MPPT strings mean two PV arrays can be connected independently. If one array faces east and the other west, or one is partly shaded during part of the day, each tracks its own maximum power point. On a single-MPPT unit, both arrays would be forced to a shared operating point, and the weaker array drags the stronger one down.

For sites with roof sections in different orientations, this is often the deciding feature. Array limit is 7500 W per string, with an open-circuit working range of 60–450 Vdc and a 500 Vdc maximum.

Sizing context

With 15 kW of PV input against a 12 kW output, the array comfortably serves the load and charges the battery. Battery current at full load is around 260 A at 48 V, so battery cable and breaker rating need attention — plan for substantial cable and a 250 A-class breaker.

The dual output allows a split: main output for the house (up to 12000 W), secondary output (up to 40 A) for a workshop, outbuilding or non-critical circuit. When the battery runs low, the secondary output drops and the house keeps running.

This model has FCC, RoHS and safety coverage but no CE file of its own — the UDEM LVD+EMC certificate lists 14 HE200 and HE500 models and this is not one of them. Confirm before quoting CE. The IP54 variant differs again. HE200-12000-F-I5 is on the FCC and RoHS model lists and on the RKEYS250917157 safety report, but it is not in the BDL260706S002 report.
